UK coffee house company Costa Coffee said it will add two new locations in the center of Sofia.
The company, which already operates two outlets in the Bulgarian capital, said it has contracted the new outlets and will begin their refurbishment within a month.
Plans are underway for a further three launches in Sofia, this time in more suburban locations, but the projects are still at a very early stage, said Gergana Solachka from Coffee Life Limited, the local franchisee of the UK cafe chain.
The company plans to add one new outlet each in Varna and Burgas. At the moment, Costa Coffee outlets operate in the center of Varna and at the Burgas and Varna international airports.
The new cafe in Varna will be an experimental collaboration with local bookstore The Penguins.
Coffee Life will aim for 50 outlets across the country by 2011, up from a dozen or so at present. In line with that expansion strategy, the company has secured locations in mall developments in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
