Depeche Mode Left 35 000 Fans Breathless
Sofia News Agency, 22.06.2006New wave megastars Depeche Mode left over 35,000 of their Bulgarian fans breathless Wednesday evening.
Depeche Mode's concert, the most impatiently awaited gig of the year, took place at Locomotive stadium in the capital Sofia.
People started gathering at the stadium at 4 pm to get the chance and stay closer to their idols. Fans from Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia queued in front of the stadium's entrances. Bulgarian stars of famous pop duo KariZma were also at the stadium to enjoy the skills of the world stars.
Bulgarian band Nova Generatsia (New Generation) warmed up the crowd for the mega starts of Depeche Mode, whose appearance on stage drove the crowd mad.
Depeche Mode's grandiose scene was something unseen in Bulgaria so far - six big video walls showing both the stars performing on scene and video clips in combination with impressive light effects and the massive sound exalted the fans and offered them a-once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The performance of the band's hits "Walking In My Shoes", "A Pain That I'm Used To", "Precious" and "Personal Jesus" thrilled the fans, who excitedly sang and danced along with the guys from Depeche Mode.
Depeche Mode are playing to more than two and a half million people across 31 countries during the "Touring The Angel" 2005/6 World Tour, promoting "Playing The Angel" album.
