2008 will be the subway year, the finance vice-major of Sofia Minko Gerdjikov announced on today's public discussion over capital's budget.
Gerdjikov explained the municipality prepared 108 million BGN (54 million EUR) for the construction of underground railway.

The plan is the subway trace to reach ‘Mladost' district to the end of the year.

This year Sofia Municipality grants the biggest amount for planting that have ever been spent for these actions - 10 million BGN (5 million EUR). Last year the resources for capital's parks and gardens were round 7 million BGN (3.5 million EUR).

Solving of the problem with intensive street traffic is also a priority of the Municipality.

For this aim 37 million BGN have been shared for reconstruction and repair of boulevards and streets.

The other big problem of Bulgarian capital - the rubbish, will also receive granting for the construction of new recycling factory, which is about to be built near Sofia.
